Discussion Moderator: Apple Developer Academy @ Infinite Learning Goes to Fakultas Teknik UNTAN

What they needed
The global app development ecosystem is opening up further to local talent, but UNTAN Informatics students needed a bridge connecting international industry insight with the academic context they study in the classroom. Apple Developer Academy @ Infinite Learning Goes to Fakultas Teknik UNTAN, held in partnership with American Corner, was organized to open up career opportunities, digital innovation, and the global software development ecosystem for hundreds of students.
What I delivered
I led the interactive discussion and Q&A session with representatives from Apple Developer Academy @ Infinite Learning, Mariskha P Yosua (Operation Coordinator) and Dhea L Januar (Marketing & Student Acquisition), following the main session on the academy's project-based learning approach. As moderator, I acted as the discussion catalyst connecting the industry curriculum (coding, UI/UX, agile teamwork, and technopreneurship) with concrete questions from students: tips for passing selection, preparing an app portfolio, and identifying community problems that can be turned into digital solutions.
Outcome
The session was attended by hundreds of Faculty of Engineering students, including from the Department of Informatics, along with faculty leadership who officially opened the event. The communicative approach to the discussion encouraged students to explore their ideas more confidently, with an emphasis that future programmers are judged not only by coding proficiency but also by their willingness to try, creativity, and ability to work in a team. The session further strengthened the Department of Informatics' role in preparing students to compete globally.
Outcome
Students gained first-hand insight into global industry standards, tips for passing talent-program selection, and how to turn community problems into digital solutions, while being motivated to start building impactful digital product portfolios.
